Greg Mills is a band director and music educator in Texas, the high school band capital of the world. Greg wanted a site that showcased his work as a versatile and accomplished music teacher. The centerpiece of the site is the “Work” page, a menu with a user-friendly grid layout. This menu leads to dedicated portfolio pages that present text, visual, audio, and video samples of Greg’s work.
BESA is a companions and homemakers service in Bloomfield, Connecticut. I designed this site from scratch after meetings with the two founders of the company. Beth and Sandy wanted to build their private customer base after years of working mostly on state contracts. Their site features a continuous scroll layout, a soothing color scheme, and clear, concise descriptions of the company and services.
Jack and Amanda wanted their wedding website to be a cut above popular DIY layouts. Along with design motifs and colors from their wedding invitation, their site features full-width image headers and photo galleries to convey the excitement and elegance of their Arizona wedding. (This site is no longer active).
This full site overhaul included streamlining layout and navigation, swapping text-heavy pages for photos and videos, and integrating social media, user-friendly calendar displays, and event signup forms. All these elements work together to tell the story of a welcoming, inclusive religious community.
My first web design project, I worked collaboratively with quartet members to showcase our ensemble for potential presenters. With a bright, clean events calendar and project page, and integration of audio, video, photos throughout, our website received almost as many compliments as our music!
